My Sport Live (MSL) and GPC Australia are proud to announce that they have agreed a new deal to broadcast various elite level powerlifting events across the country in 2023.
Having already streamed the GPC Summer Classic in January, ProRaw 13 will be broadcast live next week as a four-day pay-per-view event, available exclusively through the My Sport Live platform.
MSL has been streaming ProRaw and BigDogs events since 2017 but will take showcasing the sport to a new level with seven events locked in for the 2023.
It will include for the first time the 2023 GPC Nationals being held in Newcastle, hosted by Leroy Scott, the NSW GPC Delegate, owner of Hunter Strength and Performance, Beresfield, NSW.
The full list of powerlifting events being streamed in 2023 are as follows:
- Jan 22: PC Summer Classic
- March 16-19: ProRaw 12
- April 15 – 16: Victorian State Titles
- June 10: Winter Open
- June 24 – 25: Masters Nationals
- August 25-27: GPC Nationals
- October 21-22: Melbourne Cup
Speaking on the new broadcast deal, GPC Australia President Vicki Jewson said that she is excited to see powerlifting broadcast to a wider audience in 2023.
“It’s great to be able to partner up with My Sport Live to deliver these events to the public,” she said.
“We want to showcase the athletes to as many people as possible, and this broadcast deal will enable us to do so, with high quality production to accompany each event.”
“Our Nationals showcases the best of the best powerlifters in Australia – and indeed the world, so to be able to bring this to life on the screen is a watershed moment for our organisation.”
Speaking about today’s announcement, GPC Australia founder and PTC Headquarters owner Markos Markopoulos said it was another big moment for the sport in the country.
“We have been working hard for years to provide the best quality powerlifting events in not just Australia, but the Southern Hemisphere,” Markopoulos said.
“And we have worked closely with My Sport Live over the past six years to showcase the bigger events we run to the world.”
“So to add so many events from our calendar onto the list of those that will be showcased LIVE is a wonderful result and we can’t wait to make it happen.”
