My Sport Live UK venture ‘a wonderful start’

My Sport Live’s first foray into international live streaming has been declared a massive success by the company’s Managing Director, Andrew Weiss.

After three years of streaming a variety of sporting events here in Australia, My Sport Live made its international broadcasting debut in the UK last month with live streams of the Archery Great Britain Paralympic Selection Shoot and the 2016 British Weightlifting Championship.

Weiss said the positive reviews in the aftermath of the two UK streams had justified the company’s decision to expand its operations into a new market.

“We have had a wonderful start to our streaming of events in the UK, with huge numbers across the two events that we broadcast,” Weiss said.

“The British Weightlifting Champs reached over 21,000 views for the event, while several thousand viewers tuned into the Archery.

“These are figures that we are certainly very proud of, and it underlines to us that the UK’s thirst for live sport is just as strong as it is here in Australia.”

There were a plethora of exciting highlights across the two events, but perhaps the most notable was the world record set at the by para archer, Jo Frith, who scored 144 out of a possible 150 points in a 15-arrow-match during the selection event to break her own world record by three points.

According to Weiss, capturing moments of this magnitude is the reason My Sport Live has made the commitment to giving its viewers even greater access to a huge range of high-quality sports content, LIVE and for FREE, from across the globe.

“To be able to bring to life new world records and see the faces of competitors as they qualified for the Olympics was certainly a major highlight in the life of My Sport Live,” Weiss said.

“We are working hard to lock in a schedule of events in the UK for the remainder of 2016 and beyond, and will update our broadcast schedule via our website in the coming weeks.”
