Victorian sport’s night of nights brought to you LIVE by My Sport Live!

My Sport Live, together with Vicsport, are pleased to announce that the 2016 Victorian Sport Awards will be broadcast LIVE from the Melbourne Convention Centre on March 30, 2017.

Jointly presented by Vicsport and the Victorian Government, the Victorian Sport Awards is the premier event on the state’s sporting calendar, with 19 awards being presented on the night.

For more than 30 years, the Victorian Sport Awards has recognised the achievements of individual athletes, teams, officials, coaches, administrators and also sport development initiatives, with previous award winners including names such as Cathy Freeman, Cadel Evans, James Tomkins, Leisel Jones, Craig Mottram and Shane Warne.

In an exciting development, the 2016 Awards will also encompass the Victorian Community Sport & Recreation Awards, which will recognise outstanding performances and achievements across all levels of sport.

Following the live stream success of the previous three years, Vicsport CEO Steven Potts said the organisation was looking forward to celebrating the full spectrum of Victorian sport.

“With over nineteen different categories up for contention, we are ecstatic to witness the vast diversity of sport and the presentation of these highly sought titles and rewards for participating in sport in Victoria, the sporting capital of Australia,” Potts said.

“Entries are already at record high levels, and with only one week remaining to enter, we expect to have outstanding results in awarding the best of the best.”

My Sport Live Managing Director Andrew Weiss said the company was delighted to extend its partnership with Vicsport for another year.

“My Sport Live is proud to be a preferred supplier of Vicsport, and we are incredibly excited to be involved in broadcasting the Victorian Sport Awards for a fourth straight year,” Weiss said.

“As the event itself evolves and all the elements of Victorian sport are recognised from the grassroots to the elite level, My Sport Live’s coverage of the ceremony evolves with it, and we look forward to bringing the viewer a broadcast that showcases the best of the best in Victorian sport.”

My Sport Live is also pleased to announce that it will be sponsoring three awards on the night – the Victorian Young Athlete of the Year, the Victorian Coach of the Year and the Victorian Community Coach of the Year.

“It is with great pleasure that we have the chance to present three awards at this year’s event, after two years of sponsoring the Victorian Junior Athlete of the Year Award,” Weiss said.

“Last year we had the honour of presenting the award to rising Paralympic athlete Isis Holt, who subsequently went on to win two silvers and a bronze medal at the 2016 Rio Paralympic Games.”

Nominations for these three awards close on Friday, January 27. Click here to head to the Awards Nomination Portal, and click on the corresponding button which will direct you to the criteria, guidelines and submission form to make your submission for each award.
